Journey:
After driving past the ADEG supermarket in the center of Russbach, turn right and drive about 1 km until you reach the beginning forest road. You will find a parking lot here.
A sign will give you information on the opening hours of the hut.
You will continue your way by foot along the wide forest road which will to take you an estimated 15 minutes time.
Furthermore you will come to a narrow path, a skidoo track, that will lead your way to the Rinnbergalm. The trail will get steaper and after some time you are going to reach the Rinnbergalm and the „Animooshütte“ at 1239 metres above the sea level, which is open to the public.
There is a beautiful view over to the Dachstein, the Gosaukamm and skiing area Dachstein-West here. Behind the hut you will be able to see the unique mountain crest of the Moosbergriedel and the Barunedel, covered in snow.
After spending some nice time at Eli´s and Toni´s you will have a bumpy ride down the track for about 15 minutes.
This route is especially prefered for skiing tours to the Gamsfeld.
It is not possible to head up the skidoo track all the time. The trail is closed temporarily when there is danger of an avalanche.
When the full moon shines the tobogganing adventure can be especially exciting. Advance notice for catering at the hut is required.
