A stop at the rustic Zwieselalmhütte is definetely recommendable. Empress Sisi also went here two times, together with her whole royal household. The only person who was carried up to the hut was the heavy cook. The empress was very athletic and walked up the mountain on foot.
Josefa Jäger, the landlady, can easily remember her grandmother, telling her about the old times. The royal cook was not able to use the open fire place correctly. So, thinking of the next visit of the empress, an expensive and special oven was installed. Nowadays the Zwieselalmhütte still does not have electricity to cook.
